Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Tablet- MEPOMIR-10 tablets contain Medroxyprogesterone Acetate, a progestin that is used to treat abnormal uterine bleeding and endometriosis. It works by replacing the body’s inability to produce the natural progesterone hormone. In menopausal women taking oestrogen, this treats painful, irregular/absent menstrual periods and prevents uterine lining overgrowth (another female hormone). It can also be used as a contraceptive.
Uses of Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Tablet
- Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Tablet is a female hormone that helps women regulate their ovulation and menstruation. It aids in the beginning of the menstrual cycle (periods) in women who have not yet reached menopause.
- Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Tablet is used to prevent uterine lining thickening in postmenopausal women receiving oestrogens who have not had their uterus surgically removed.
- It also aids in the treatment of amenorrhea (cessation or irregular menses cycle for more than three months). In addition, it is used in conjunction with oestrogens as part of menopausal replacement therapy.
- Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Tablet aids in reproductive technology for infertile women who have a progesterone deficiency or a menstrual cycle that is irregular or has stopped.
Precaution to use of Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Tablet
Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have ever had any bleeding problems or if you have a history of blood clots, stroke, heart attack, liver problems, or bleeding problems. Your doctor should also be aware of any other medications you are taking, as many of them may reduce the effectiveness of this medication or alter how it works. This medication should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women.
